2016 - present

As a freelance writer and editor, I have worked with a range of clients in both the private and charity sector. My current retainer clients include:

• The Patient Information Forum (PIF)

• CPRE Sussex

• A leading B2B public relations agency.

 

My duties for these clients include: 

• Press release creation

• Email mailouts

• Report writing 

• Social media management

• Training

 

During my time as a freelancer I have also:

• Produced website copy based on user feedback for a national health charity.

• Written special supplements for newspapers.

• Worked as a journalism tutor on an NCTJ-accredited course.

• Acted as a press officer for a fine art and photography printing business.

Content editor

2015 - 2016

As content editor for a group of local newspapers and websites I was responsible for the day-to-day running of a busy newsroom. My duties included proof-reading, running major campaigns, writing, training, dealing with reader queries and co-ordinating with advertising and sales departments. In the final quarter of 2015 my main website had the biggest online growth of any newspaper in the Johnston Press group nationally.

 

Journalist

2008 - 2015

Having started on a local newspaper as a junior reporter in 2008, I went on to hold several different roles on newspapers across Sussex including chief reporter, website editor and deputy editor. Upon completion of my NQJ I won the national award for best logbook.
